Hazardous Waste Manifest Information

EPA revised the Hazardous Waste Manifest Forms used to track hazardous waste from a generator’s site to the site of its disposition.  Handlers of waste will obtain new forms from any source that has registered with EPA to print and distribute the form.

Manifest FAQs

Are manifests required to be submitted to DEQ?

Oklahoma does not require copies of manifests be submitted to it regardless of whether the waste originates or is disposed of in the state.  The only exceptions are when the shipment is an international shipment or the DEQ is the generator of the waste.

Does Oklahoma have State Specific waste codes?

Oklahoma does not have any state specific waste codes.

Are additional handlers required to use manifests?

Only handlers required by federal regulations are required to use manifests.  Conditionally exempt small quantity generators are NOT required to manifest their waste.

What is the printing status of manifests in Oklahoma?

Oklahoma will not be printing blank manifest forms.  Please refer to EPA’s Manifest webpage and Electronic Manifest webpage.

Am I required to place the disposal plan number on the new uniform hazardous waste manifest?

DEQ no longer requires the disposal plan number on manifests.  The regulations were amended to remove this requirement in conformance with the federal uniform hazardous waste manifest regulations.
