ScienceFest 2019 is scheduled for May 2, 2019, at Oklahoma State Fair Park. Approximately 4,000 fourth and fifth grade students are registered to attend this annual event. ScienceFest activities offer students a hands-on learning experience in the areas of engineering, math, and other environmental conservation and stewardship exhibits and workshops.

“ScienceFest is aimed at enhancing students’ learning experience about science, math, and technology,” said ScienceFest Committee Chair Jan Kunze. “We want to inspire students to potentially pursue a career, when they get older, in one of these important fields.”

The event is designed to foster scientific literacy, while educating children about protecting the environment, conserving natural resources, and using alternative fuels and technologies. At the event, educators will provide exciting exhibits, presentations and hands-on activities all developed to show the importance of scientific applications in the environment.

Event sponsors include the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality, OGE Energy Corp., Keep Oklahoma Beautiful, and Frontiers of Science Foundation. Event partners are Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department, Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food & Forestry, Oklahoma Water Resources Board, and the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.
