The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) invites public comment through September 30, 2016, on a proposed plan to address contamination at the former Kerr-McGee Refinery Site, located in Cushing, Oklahoma. The site is about two miles north of Highway 33 (East Main Street) and a half mile east of Highway 18.

This plan was approved by DEQ and details how the site’s current owner, Greenfield Environmental Multistate Trust, LLC, proposes to clean up contaminated soil and waste material at the site. DEQ will conduct oversight of clean-up activities, including review and approval of budgets, contractors, and other operational matters.

The approved plan and associated documents are available for review at the Cushing Public Library, located at 215 N Steele Ave, Cushing, Oklahoma.

Comments may be sent to the DEQ project manager, Todd Downham at the Department of Environmental Quality, 707 North Robinson Ave., P. O. Box 1677, Oklahoma City, OK 73101-1677, or via email to Todd.Downham@deq.ok.gov.

DEQ will accept comments from September 1, 2016, to September 30, 2016, and will hold a public meeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday, September 26, 2016, at Cushing City Hall.
