Public Water Supply: See A Bloom?

 

If a public water supply operator suspects a bloom in their source water, please contact DEQ immediately at (800) 522-0206. Contact your district engineer for information on treatment options to prevent cyanotoxins from being distributed to the public. Different communication, treatment, and monitoring actions are available based on the type and intensity of the bloom.

Begin to regularly monitor your surface water intakes.Take note of the following;

  1. Time/Date when you first noticed bloom
  2. Intensity
  3. Proximity of bloom to the intake
