The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has announced that the boil order for the Sardis Lake Water Authority, located in Pushmataha County, and the Talihina Public Works Authority, located in LeFlore County, has been lifted. The water is now safe for human consumption.

The order to boil water was issued due to the presence of E. coli. State and federal regulations require that customers be notified if, at any time, public drinking water is determined to be unsafe.

The following water systems purchase water from the Sardis Lake Water Authority and/or Talihina Public Works Authority, and have also had the boil order lifted:

  • Clayton PWA
  • Latimer Co. RWD #2
