More than 2,500 fourth and fifth graders from across Oklahoma will participate in ScienceFest 2017 on May 4, 2017, at Oklahoma State Fair Park. The annual event is designed to engage students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math related activities and motivate a new generation of students toward STEM careers.

ScienceFest offers hands-on demonstrations, exciting exhibits, and kid-friendly workshops.

“Getting kids excited about STEM careers is key to Oklahoma’s future,” said ScienceFest Committee Chair Jan Kunze. “ScienceFest provides a great avenue to teach students about science, math, and technology in a fun, interactive way and to show the importance of scientific applications in the environment,” Kunze added.

This is the 16th year of ScienceFest Oklahoma. Event sponsors include the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality, OGE Energy Corp., Oklahoma Department of Commerce, Keep Oklahoma Beautiful, and Frontiers of Science Foundation. Event partners are Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department, Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food & Forestry, Oklahoma Water Resources Board, and the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation.
