The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has announced that the boil order for Frontier Public Schools, located in Noble County, has been lifted. The water is now safe for human consumption.

Frontier Public Schools was included in the boil order for the Otoe-Missouria Tribe. Since the boil order was issued, the school has disconnected from that water source and has secured a source of water that is safe to drink. The boil order for the Otoe-Missouria Tribe is, however, still active.

The order to boil water was due to turbidity. State and federal regulations require that customers be notified if, at any time, public drinking water is determined to be unsafe.

DEQ is responsible for regulating more than 1,600 public water supplies in the State of Oklahoma. All public water supplies are required to regularly submit samples to DEQ for routine testing to ensure that water is safe for human consumption.
