Renewal Questions

What do I need to do to renew my license?
To renew your license, you need to pay your renewal fee for each license you hold and complete the required renewal training for the corresponding renewal period. The invoices will be mailed to your home address.

When can I expect my renewal invoice?
Renewal invoices will be mailed to your home address on file in early June 2024. The invoices will not be available before then.

If you have moved in the past year, please contact OpCert at 405-702-8228 to request a change of address to ensure your renewal invoice is mailed to the correct place. If you have not received it by June 20, please contact us as well.

How much is the renewal fee?
The renewal fee is currently $46 per license. Once the invoice is received, operators have until July 31, 2024 to make a payment without late fees. Late fees will be added beginning August 1, 2024.

When is my renewal due?
Renewal invoices should be paid and renewal training completed by June 30, 2024. Although late fees will not be added until August 1, all licenses are considered expired if not renewed by June 30.

Do I need to submit proof that I have completed renewal training?
No. Unless requested, no training documentation needs to be sent to DEQ. Instructors will send a copy of your training record to DEQ within 10 business days for filing.

Where can I get renewal training?
Renewal training is available through any DEQ approved training course. This can be from DEQ approved renewal training, or a standard certification course, with the sponsor’s approval. A listing of approved courses can be found by clicking the Search For Training button on the right hand side of your screen.

Please remember that online training will not count towards renewal hours for D Water/Wastewater Operators or Distribution and Collection Technicians.

How many hours of renewal training do I need?
The amount of hours you need depends on the highest level of license you hold. It does not depend on the number of licenses that you hold. The maximum training hours any operator needs is 16 hours per renewal period. Please see the below chart.

Ex: An operator who holds an A Wastewater Operator license and a B Waterworks Operator license will only need 16 hours total for the renewal period.
